Before You Build

Our firm is knowledgeable and understands the complexities of the after-permit process. All permits contain specific conditions to ensure that the project conservation easement. We will review and trouble-shoot the required documents including the title information, subordination agreement and conservation easement deed before it is recorded and submitted to the regulatory agency.

Identify the conservation easement boundary
Most conservation easements are required to be marked in the field with concrete monuments and/or signs which identify the area and include permit numbers and agency phone numbers. We can provide your surveyor with markers that meet these requirements or we can assist the surveyor in the field with the placement of the markers at the appropriate locations and intervals.

Implement Best Management Practices (BMP’s)
It is extremely important that equipment operators and the project manager know and understand their limitations relative to the jurisdictional areas on-site. As the permittee, you have a vested interest as you are ultimately responsible for any violations of the permit terms. We can meet with your construction team and/or contractor to familiarize them with the construction related BMP’s that are part of EVERY permit.

Pre and Post-project notification
The agencies will require notification before construction begins and submission of as-built drawings after completion. We can coordinate these notifications with the engineer and agencies.
